Wainrights is a great place to get your shoes. The range of products is ample and service is usually excellent, with plenty of knowledgable staff and stock on hand. I've been many times and never had a bad experience. Worth travelling for.
In the past I've always gone to clarks but from now on, i'll be shoe shopping right here at Wainwright's! My son has particularly wide feet so trying to find appropriate footwear has been very tricky the last few weeks of summer holidays. We've been to the shop 4 times in the last few weeks & have spent several hours trying to get shoes!!! The senior management & particularly the manager at Wainwright's were extremely helpful & very patient & kind. They know what they're talking about & lots of other advice given to us such as recommending foot orthotics. Highly recommend all the staff & service.Thank you..
My wife and I have been shopping for shoes at Wainwrights for over 20 years. Our experience has always been one of good service and value for money in a friendly and cooperative manner. Any problems have invariably been resolved with courtesy and consideration. It would be hard to find a more helpful bunch of cheerful people.
1 Star is too many! I wish I would have read the reviews online first as I would have avoided this shop at all costs. I took my daughter to get her feet measured in the Beaconsfield branch and was told that she was between sizes and that one foot was much bigger than the other. I was informed to get her a size 6 so that the shoes would fit both feet. I trusted the lady (turns out it was the manager) and bought two pairs of shoes. I must say at this point the manager was perfectly pleasant. When I got home I put the shoes on my daughter and was shocked to see I could fit 3 fingers between the back of her foot and the back of the shoe!!! This was on both pairs of shoes. My husband returned the shoes later that day and was met by the same manager with an absolute barrage of abuse. She blamed me for buying the shoes and claimed to have advised me that they would be far too big!! Why on EARTH would I buy shoes which are at least 2 sizes too big?! Especially after I specifically visited a shop which would measure my childs feet and fit her with correctly fitting shoes?! Utter madness! The woman is completely dilusional and seemed to think that harping on about the fact that she has been the manager for some time would excuse her behaviour. Not only that but she commanded another member of staff to issue a refund after much protesting about the fact that they dont do refunds and proceeded to bad mouth me and my husband to other members of staff WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS STILL IN THE SHOP!!! Im all for supporting small business but I will never ever visit this shop again. Wainwrights - do something about the incompetent manager in your Beaconsfield store before you have no customers left. A star rating of 1.9 says it all really doesnt it?
One star is too many. Was sold the wrong size shor for my toddler. No care taken in measuring and making sure they were correct. Very quick to take my money. When I tried to return them was greeted with an agressive manager who takes no responsibility for her own mistakes. Once she had finished with her strop and saying that she is very upset by me trying to return goods. Then disappeared to the other side of the store to carry on complaining about a customer. . I have ears. This could have been so different and would have maybe spent more money if my return/issue was dealt with properly. Being greeted with the anger stopped all possibility of this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
