Actually the best Indian restaurant around, very friendly staff and food is great, not just a gora pleaser

What a shambles!! Attended a pre booked and fully paid up event to find ourselves shoved onto a tiny table in a corner where nobody could get out in an emergency. Table wasn't made up and we were completely ignored. Where others were getting served we were left to rot. On complaining they offered the same tiny table to be put out by the bar so we would miss the entertainment we had paid for. We were there an hour and nobody took an order for drinks or food and the organiser kept trying to fob us off. Take my advice don't bother attending special events at this place. We asked for a refund and left having booked this about 6 weeks ago. Very disappointed. If we had been a group of burly men they wouldn't have done that!!
Excellent excellent food. Light and fresh. Far better than most Indian fayre. Nice service too. Well done people!
Update: November 2018Clearly this has taken a nose dive and is now under new management. Poor quality food, won't be using again.Prior review:Excellent service and food is insane, lots of twists on dishes and some explosions of flavours. Fairly priced and a nice, clean atmosphere. I'd choose Old Bengal over spice merchant any day.
